By doing so, SAIL de-risks the asset in terms of deforestation free mode of production and physical risk, thus enhancing the company’s market optionality, ultimately driving economic value for the borrower. Since inception, SAIL has, through its global credit investments, protected 3.1 million hectares of natural tropical forest, generated climate benefits of 13.2 million tCO2e and benefitted 68,000 people, whilst protecting biodiversity through its unique Nature Framework.
